Daily Devotional October 4, 2026: Worship Before Work
Today’s daily devotional for October 4, 2026 on Psalm 95:6 shows why worship must come before work. Start your Sunday and your week with God first.
Daily Devotional October 4, 2026: Worship Before Work
Today’s Scripture: Psalm 95:6
“O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.”
Put God First This Sunday
Tomorrow brings emails, deadlines, school runs and decisions. Today, before the week begins, the psalmist invites us to come, bow and worship. Worship sets the order of our lives: God first, everything else after.
What the Verse Teaches
Worship Is an Invitation
“O come” is warm, not forced. God is not demanding a performance. He is inviting His children into His presence.
Worship Reminds Us Who God Is
The verse calls Him “the LORD our maker.” When we remember that He made us, we remember that He also sustains us, including through the week ahead.
Worship Rearranges Our Priorities
Jesus said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). Worship before work is a way of living that verse.
Reflection Questions
- What usually gets my first attention each morning: God or my phone?
- What worries about this week do I need to hand over in worship?
- How can I make worship a habit and not only a Sunday event?
Today’s Action Step
Before you step into church, or begin your online service, spend five minutes in quiet worship. Sing one song, read Psalm 95:1-7 aloud and thank God for who He is.
Closing Prayer
Lord, You are my maker and my King. I bow before You today. Help me put You first this Sunday and in the week ahead. Amen.
